The move to Denmark was hard. It took a lot of willpower, all the courage that I had, the money I spent months earning and saving, the clothes that I chipped away, the people I had to say Goodbye to, to make the move. But I did it, and although it was hard to say goodbye, for now, I feel relieved, at ease, and as though a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Because I am here now, the rest is up to me, the rest will take time, but I can relax a bit not stress too much, and enjoy my time more. Living in such a beautiful place, I'm a bike ride from my dad's house, from my work, my bank, a stunning town, amazing sights, and my gym.
I said goodbye to my grandparents, my two sisters that came up from London to say goodbye, and good luck. My mum, stepfather, cousins, and many more. Friends. I left on the 25th of June. The party was on the 23rd, and on the 24th I spent the whole day at the beach with my two older sisters. On the evening of the 24th, we ate chips with my mother, stepfather, my grandparents, and my two sisters. Played games, watched movies, and said goodbye, through tears of joy and sadness. The fact that I will not be going back in two weeks, to mums, will be hard. But I did live in Germany during COVID-19 last year, so I know that I can do it. Plus, it will be easier, as I know people here, this is my lingo, and it will be easier to meet people as my dad is here, my danish family and my baby brother. Who isn't quite a baby anymore, but will always be my little brother.
It has been hard to contact anyone that I left behind in England, but when I am ready, I will reach out and start to make connections again. It is just hard, because I miss them so much. It would be another thing, If I was going back in two weeks, but I am not. I will not return to England until November, at the earliest, and that will only be to visit, as I live here now.
I am happy and excited, but also sad, and I miss many people. But I also know that they are there for me when I need them, they are only a phone call away, and that they will visit me when they can. I will also meet new people and start enjoying my life here.
And that makes me really happy!
