Getting on the plane, with tears in my eyes.
Not ready to say goodbye to Denmark, and my Danish family.
Not prepared to say 'see you later Far' or 'vi ses'.
My eyes were full of water, filling puddles on my lap,
Sleep takes over, one and a half hours is better than none at all.
Now I am sitting in front of Costa Coffee,
deciding whether or not to buy a coffee to wake me up.
People are either full of conversation, eating alone, or sleeping on every surface.
I close my eyes for a second and am bolted awake.
The sound of the microphone calls out every departure and arrival.
I grab my bags, as I decide not to buy a coffee, and head towards my gate.
As I reach my gate, I hand in my ticket and passport, glancing back one last time I take a step out of the door, and with the wind in my face, I say goodbye to Denmark.
The flight went past too quickly, and I slept the whole flight. Landing in London, I feel a sadness rush over me.
After waiting 8 hours in the airport, I tried to sleep, eat and rest before my coach trip back to Norwich.
When I arrived home, I started planning my next trip to see my family in December.
Making me feel better about leaving, and excited to go back.
